The following is a message from Will Jordan to the Givens community:
Why does this video matter?
If you are a stakeholder at Givens, it should matter deeply. And who are the stakeholders? The Residents who have invested not only their resources but also their remaining years of life into this community and the Team members whose careers and livelihoods are built here. This video is for all of us.
Givens means Giving. Always has, always will.
That spirit of giving is the foundation of everything we enjoy today. The journey from a Dream to a Hope to a Reality was not guaranteed. There were moments when the chain of events could have broken, when Givens Estates might never have come to be. But it didn’t. The chain held, because the Builders felt the need and forged the links.
And once Givens Estates was formed, the giving didn’t stop. Residents continued to shape and improve this community. Some answered the call during fundraisers. Others saw a need and quietly filled it themselves. Every act of generosity added another link to the chain.
This is not a call to action. It’s not a solicitation. It’s an invitation to learn more about this fine place we’ve made central to our lives and our work. We owe it to the Builders to spend a few minutes watching their story. To understand. To appreciate. To say thank you.
As we approach a holiday rooted in gratitude and remembrance, let’s take a moment to reflect on our own journey.
We can pause and say to ourselves, Happy ThanksGIVENS.
